A fórmula

Grout (yd³) = wall ft² ÷ 100 × factor × cell fraction. Factors per 100 ft² solid: 6" = 0.93, 8" = 1.12, 10" = 1.30, 12" = 1.73 yd³

Exemplo resolvido: A 300 ft² wall of 8 in block, cells grouted at 32 in o.c.: 3 × 1.12 × 0.25 = 0.84 yd³ of grout.

Core-fill grout is soupier than concrete — high slump (8–11 in), pea-gravel aggregate — so it flows down the cells and around rebar. Order "masonry core fill grout," not standard mix, from the plant.

Partial grouting is the norm: only cells containing vertical reinforcement get filled, typically at 16–48 inches on center, plus bond beams. The cell-spacing dropdown applies the standard fractions to the solid-grout factor.

Bond beams add volume this calculator doesn't include: about 0.08 ft³ per linear foot for an 8-inch bond beam course — add one course factor per bond-beam row.

How much grout to fill 8 inch block?

Solid grouted: ≈ 1.12 yd³ per 100 ft² of wall (about 0.25 ft³ per block). Partial grouting scales by cell spacing — a quarter of that at 32 in o.c.

Can I use regular concrete for core fill?

Not standard mix — the 3/4 in aggregate bridges in the cells. Use masonry grout (ASTM C476) or a pea-gravel mix at 8–11 in slump.

How many blocks per 100 square feet?

About 112 standard 8 × 16 in blocks per 100 ft² of wall.

Does this include bond beams?

No — add ≈ 0.08 ft³ per linear foot for each 8 in bond beam course on top of the cell grout.
