Irregular Shape Concrete Calculator
This irregular shape concrete calculator is for pours that aren't square: break the footprint into up to three rectangular sections, enter each one, and get a single combined estimate. It's the concrete calculator odd shapes demand.
Irregular volume = Σ (section length × section width) × thickness Esempio svolto: A patio split into 12 × 10 ft and 8 × 6 ft sections at 4 in: (120 + 48) × 0.333 = 56 ft³ ≈ 2.07 yd³.
Most concrete calculators not square in shape can't handle real backyards — curved beds, jogs around steps, angled property lines. The reliable field method is decomposition: cover the footprint with rectangles, overestimating slightly at curves.
For curved edges, place your rectangle through the middle of the curve — the area you overcount outside the curve roughly cancels what you undercount inside. For long sweeping curves, use more, smaller sections.
Triangular corners? Compute them in the triangle calculator and add, or simply cover the triangle with a half-sized rectangle (a triangle is half its bounding rectangle).
Domande frequenti
Domande comuni sulla irregular shape concrete calculator.
How do I estimate an odd-shaped slab?
Divide the footprint into rectangles, calculate each (L × W), sum the areas, multiply by thickness. This calculator accepts three sections; run it twice for more.
How do I handle curves?
Run your measuring rectangle through the middle of the curve so over- and under-counts cancel, then add 10% waste rather than 5%.
What if my slab has a triangle?
A triangle is half its bounding rectangle — enter the triangle's base and height as a section, then mentally halve it, or use the triangle calculator and add.
How much waste for irregular pours?
10% — odd shapes mean hand-formed edges and estimation error on top of normal spillage.
